# Project II

We’ve got some **exciting news** to share as we approach the 4-year anniversary of the original *Sunflower Farmers* prototype (August 2021). We've gone from friends building an Open Source project, to maintaining a community game with over 600K Bumpkins!

It’s time for the **next chapter** in the Sunflower story…

### 💥 Explosive Growth

The past 6 months has been the most successful financially since the project launched. This has been attributed to our support of new Blockchains, marketplace mechanics, non-stop feature launches & of course our loyal community!

We are 100% independent with no VCs and hence we are eternally grateful for the opportunity our players have given us to grow organically and build our own vision.

As we continue to expand, we look to what we can give back to our players.&#x20;

### 🎮 Project II -  2026

Project II is the codename for a brand new game to be added into the FLOWER ecosystem.

This won’t be another farming game — we’re venturing into a **new genre**, using our playbook for sustainable economies, open-source development, and community-first design. The game will be:

* 💱 Focused on trading & Web3 ownership
* 🖱️ Click-based and browser-friendly
* 🔁 Built in public, with feedback from Day 1
* 🪙 Powered by **the FLOWER token**

This isn't a mini-game, but a whole new project - a genre that has been requested heavily by our community. Stay tuned for more teasers!

### ❤️ Sunflower Land

Sunflower Land will remain the primary focus of the team, with many exciting features including Pets, Swamps, Insects, More Blockchains, Fishing Updates, Faction Revamp, Chapters & content for years to come. Engineers, artists, community managers + support will  be focussed full-time on building out the Sunflower Land roadmap. Additional support and teams will be rolled out to ensure Sunflower Land can continue building & growing without interruption.

Everything we build — new frameworks, systems, tools — is designed to **strengthen the FLOWER ecosystem** and push all games forward.

The primary FLOWER generation will be through Sunflower Land. You play Sunflower Land to spend in other games. The games are not exclusive - we expect our community to play Sunflower Land to earn FLOWER to then spend in the other games.

### 🛡️ Looking to be an early adopter?

There was no ICO and we do not sell FLOWER. The only way to get FLOWER is trading with players on UniSwap or joining the Sunflower Land community.

**Why is the project announced before launch?**

Similar to Sunflower Land, the project will be built in the open from scratch - we are inviting players from the very start to join our journey.
