Competition in Sunflower Land is heating up. Factions are recruiting and the time has come to pledge your allegiance to one of the four factions.
Does your allegiance lie with the Bumpkins or the Goblins? Will you pledge to the Sunflorian dynasties, or do you support the enigmatic Nightshades?
Establishing the Factions
Step 1: Pledge your Allegiance
Pledging allegiance is available May 1st, 2024
From May 1st, 2024 you may pledge your allegiance to the Bumpkins, Goblins, Sunflorians or the Nightshades. You may only pledge your allegiance once. This will be your faction for the next eight weeks. After the eight week period, you can gain access to other factions when the Emblem Shop and Emblem Peer to Peer Trading is enabled.

Why pledge allegiance to a faction?
Pledging allegiance to a faction is not mandatory, however it is recommended as its free and provides access to the following in game features:
Access to donate to your faction in return for faction points
Receive bonus faction points when completing Scroll based deliveries
Pledging allegiance will also provide access to following upcoming game features:
Access to the a new Kingdom area of the map
Access to a faction pet XP boost
Access to earn marks, multiplied by your faction bonus
Access to exclusive items in the faction marks shop
Access to purchase additional emblems for $SFL
Step 2: Gather Faction Points
Donate to your Faction
It's costly to set up a faction and your faction needs your support! Each day, your faction will require resource donations and $SFL donations. Your faction leader will give you faction points in return for your donation. The resource requested will change each day and can only be donated in a specified bulk amount. $SFL can be donated at any time to boost your faction point total.

Completing Deliveries & Chores for your Faction
Scroll based deliveries and Chores are available May 7th, 2024 Scroll drops from crops are also available only after May 7th, 2024
During Clash of Factions, completing Scroll based deliveries and performing Chores will also yield faction points. In order to receive faction points from deliveries and chores, you must have pledged allegiance to a faction. Why pledge allegiance to a faction?
Step 3: Watch your Faction Points Grow
Faction points represent your contribution to your faction. Faction points can be earned through Faction donations (#donating-to-your-faction) and seasonal Scroll deliveries.
On June 14th, 2024, the factions will be established.
Emblem Airdrop, Kingdom Opening and Faction Establishment
The snapshot for the emblem airdrop will occur June 14th
The establishment of the faction includes an on-chain emblem airdrop. Each faction point collected will be one Emblem airdropped. Emblems are your stake in your faction. The more emblems you have, the more benefits you get from your faction.
Step 1: Faction Airdrop
Emblems will be airdropped at a Ratio of 1:1 with faction points 1 faction points is equal to 1 emblem
On June 14th, 2024, the factions will be established. Players will receive an airdrop of emblems proportional to their contribution to the faction. Every faction point collected will be 1 emblem airdropped. Emblems are your stake in your faction. The more emblems you have, the more benefits you get from your faction. See Faction Bonusfor the benefit emblems provide.
Step 2: Visit the Kingdom
Using the resources and $SFL donated, the factions will be able to establish their Kingdoms! The Kingdom is a new area on the map, north of the plaza. Inside the Kingdom, you can venture into your exclusive faction house. This is a place time for you to meet your faction members and start collecting marks. It will take two weeks for the factions to establish themselves.
Step 3: Establish the Faction House
The factions will finish their establishment July 1st, 2024. After the faction house is established, the following features will become available. These features give the benefit proportional to your ownership in the faction:

Access to exclusive items in the faction marks shop
Access to purchase additional emblems

Faction Bonus
After the faction airdrop you will be given a ranking in your faction based on the number of emblems you hold. Your ranking in the faction determines your faction bonus.
Faction bonuses are multipliers impacting the XP bonus provided by the Faction Pet, the number of marks collected during Faction Deliveries and Chores , feeding the Faction Pet and when performing Faction Maintenance.

The percentile is based on the total number of contributing players in the faction. All contributing players in a faction will be ranked. In the case of draws, the total number of marks currently owned by the players will be used as the tiebreaker.
A contributing player is a player who has is actively collecting marks via Faction Deliveries and Chores, via Faction Maintenance or via theFaction Pet. Non contributing members will not be counted when calculating percentiles, meaning your percentile could change even if your rank does not. Example
You are ranked 150th in your faction, and your faction has 5000 contributing members. Your percentile is calculated as 150/5000 which places you in the 5% bracket, yielding a 380% faction bonus.
Faction Pet
Each faction will be given a unique pet that must be fed to stay alive. However, this pet has an endless hunger. The more you feed it, the hungrier it gets. You will need to feed it 30% more than the previous day. The goal is to keep your pet alive for as many days as possible. The food's XP, will determine how satiated the pet gets. The initial 'hungry' requirement will be based on total members in a faction.
When a pet "dies", it will be inactive for 1 day. When your pet is on a streak, all faction members will recieve an XP boost
3 Day streak - +10% XP
8 Day streak - +20% XP
15 Day streak - +30% XP
30 Day Streak - +50% XP
Players with an emblem bonus will get an additional bonus based on their faction bonus rank. Example:
A pet is on an 8 day streak. The player is in the top 50% of their faction. Their total XP bonus is streak bonus +20% (0.2) multiplied by their faction bonus +150% (2.5). Total bonus = (1 + 0.2*2.5) = 150%
The top bonus for a Tier 1 faction bonus and 30 Day stream is 1 + 0.5*5 = 3.5 = 350% XP.
Feeding the pet each day will also be rewarded in marks. The amount of marks you receive is multiplied by your Faction Bonus.
Faction Deliveries and Chores
After the establishment of the faction, the faction will no longer have any use for faction points. The factions will instead give Marks for deliveries and chores. Collected marks can be used in the The Marks Shop. Deliveries and chores give out marks at a 1:1 ratio as the season ticket. In the clash of factions season, the season ticket is scrolls.
Faction Maintenance
Your faction is constantly improving & your members need your help in the house. Each week, 3 new areas will appear with a 'maintenance' icon on them:

Each maintenance challenge will require building materials - stone, wood, iron, gold, crimstone + oil. Each challenge has a different difficulty. One is easy and one difficult. Similar to the composter, the requirements of the NPC will dynamically change each time you deliver the materials. Throughout the week these get exponentially harder.
Completing faction maintenance challenges will be rewarded in marks. The amount of marks you receive is multiplied by your Faction Bonus.
The Marks Shop
The Marks shop is available July 1st, 2024. More items including boosted and cosmetic items are currently being designed for the Marks shop for the release.
The Marks shop contains collectibles for each faction, including some unique items exclusive to given factions. To gain access to other faction items, you will need to collect marks for that faction. Collecting marks for other factions will become available after the initial eight week period spanning May 1st, 2024 to July 1st,2024. From this point on it will become possible to collect marks for other factions.

Emblem Purchases
Emblem Shop
The final formula for the bonding curve may be adjusted before release of this feature on July 1, 2024. This may be adjusted to ensure the needs of those in the emblem airdrop can be balanced with the accessibility of emblems for new players.
Players will be able to purchase emblems in a faction at any point (including after faction launch). The price of emblems will increase each day at UTC 00:00 based on the total supply of emblems.
Pricing will be based on an exponential bonding curve. The more emblems in a faction, the more expensive it will get to buy emblems. See example curve below.
Emblem Peer to Peer Trading
Emblem Peer to Peer trading is available Aug 1st, 2024.
Starting Aug 1st, 2024, emblems will be trade-able via the Peer to Peer exchange in Pumpkin Plaza. As with all tradable items, the Sunflorians take a 10% $SFL tax for the trading privilege. This tax is burnt.
